Why You Should Choose Safari Tents for Your Glamping Business?

Looking to take your glamping business to the next level? Consider investing in the ultimate glamping accommodation – the mighty Safari tent! Here are six reasons why Safari tents should be at the top of your list:

  • Style: Safari tents have a classic and elegant look that blends well with any natural setting. In addition, they can be painted in different colors or patterns to match your brand identity or theme.
  • Comfort: With high ceilings, large windows, screened doors, and ventilation openings, safari tents are designed for optimal comfort. They can be furnished with high-quality furniture, carpets, lighting, and accessories to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. They can accommodate full-size beds, sofas, tables, chairs, kitchenettes, bathrooms, and even fireplaces. Plus, they have insulation and air conditioning options that can keep the tent warm in winter and cool in summer.
  • Durability: Made of heavy-duty PVC or canvas fabrics and strong frames, safari tents can withstand harsh weather conditions and wear and tear. They also have waterproof roofs, floors, and walls that can protect the tent from rain, snow, wind, and dust.
  • Versatility: Safari tents are suitable for many kinds of locations and terrains. They can be set up on the flat or sloped ground, on wooden platforms or concrete slabs, or even on stilts or wheels. Whether you want to set up your glamping site near the ocean, in the mountains and forests, or in a city garden, safari tents are up for the challenge.
  • Eco-Friendly: Safari tents are not only beautiful and comfortable but also eco-friendly and sustainable. They use fewer resources such as water, energy, and materials compared to conventional buildings or RVs. Plus, they blend in with the natural surroundings rather than disrupting them.
  • Convenience: Safari tents are easy to install, maintain, and transport. And they can be easily dismantled and moved around if you want to change your location or expand your business.

These versatile, eco-friendly, and stylish safari tents are the perfect addition to any glamping business looking to take them to the next level.

However, choosing the right safari tent can be challenging, don’t worry, we will introduce how to choose the best safari tent for your glamping business with the factors you should consider so that you can provide your guests with the perfect luxury glamping experience.

What You Need to Know and Consider Before You Buy a Safari Tent?

Local Regulations and Permits

As you plan your glamping business, research local building codes, regulations, and permits for campground and tent buildings. Local regulations and permits may affect the type of tent you can build, so be sure to research these before purchasing.

Budget and Cost

You want to pick the best safari tent for your glamping business without breaking the bank. How much does a safari tent cost? Well, it depends on how big, fancy, and durable you want it to be. Safari tents can cost anywhere from $1,500 to over $15,000.

Don’t forget to factor in the installation and upkeep costs too. Sometimes it’s worth paying more for a high-quality safari tent that will last longer and need fewer repairs. Here is an overview of the price range for different sizes of safari tents:

Safari Tent Size Sleeping Floor Area Price (US$)
Small 1-2 ≤ 10 m² ≤1500
Medium 1-4 10-25 m² 1500-5000
Large 1-6 25-45 m² 5000-15000
Extra Large 1-8 or more ≥ 45 m² ≥ 15000

Note: These price ranges of safari tents are just estimates and may vary depending on various factors and not including the shipping cost.

Choose the Right Style and Size

Selecting a suitable style of safari tent that fits the theme of your glamping resort is essential. Additionally, you need to determine the appropriate sizes of safari tents depending on the number of guests you intend to accommodate.  Some of the safari tent style designs and renderings of the glamping project are shown below.

Jumei Glamping specializes in designing and launching a variety of safari tent styles that cater to both customers’ needs and industry trends as listed below. If you have specific requirements, we also provide customization options to ensure your tents meet your exact needs.

Jumei Glamping’s classic safari tent is designed from traditional wall tents by African hunters and explorers. Consider the Amenities

You also need to consider the number of beds, and the amenities you want to offer, such as a kitchenette or sitting area.

Consider the Location

The location of your glamping resort is one of the most important factors to consider when selecting a safari tent.

Different locations may have different styles and material options. If you are in an area with rocky or uneven terrain, you’ll need a platform/deck that’s sturdy and can let the safari tent be securely anchored and installed on it.

Additionally, consider the proximity of your safari tent to natural features such as rivers, streams, or lakes, and ensure the tent is set up in a safe and stable location.

Temperature Limits

Safari tents are usually designed for use in warm weather conditions. Therefore, if you plan to operate your glamping resort in an area with extreme temperature variations, it’s essential to choose a safari tent with proper insulation and ventilation to ensure guest comfort. It’s also important to note the temperature limits of the materials used to construct the tent.

  • Canvas fabric, for example, can be used in temperature ranges of -30°C to 50°C(-22°F to 122°F),
  • PVC fabric can withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to 82°C(-40°F to 180°F),
  • Jumei recommends your safari tents’ applicable temperature is -20°C to 50°C(-4°F to 122°F).

Weatherproofing

It’s important to ensure that your safari tent is weatherproofed to withstand harsh weather conditions such as heavy rain, wind, and snow. Some useful weatherproofing ideas include:

  • If your glamping resort is located in a rainy area:
    • Choose tent fabrics coated with a highly waterproof coating to prevent water seepage
    • Add a rainfly or awning to provide additional shelter and prevent rainwater from collecting on the tent roof
    • Use a durable, waterproof groundsheet or flooring system to prevent moisture from seeping in from the ground
    • Ensuring the tent is properly ventilated to prevent condensation buildup inside the tent
  • If your glamping resort is located in a windy area, consider a tent with a sturdy structure, i.g. Jumei Glamping provides steel frame and glass wall options, to ensure stability.
  • If your resort is located in a hot and humid area, consider a tent with windows or mesh panels, and an exhaust fan for proper ventilation. And consider tent fabrics that are mold resistant.
  • If your resort is located in a hot and sunny area, consider a tent with UV-Resistance fabric.

Jumei Safar Tent’s PVC roof fabric has a waterproof rating of 8000mm, which means the PVC roof can withstand a column of water that is 8000mm or 8 meters high before it starts to leak through. This rating is considered high and should be able to withstand heavy rain for a prolonged time.

In addition to waterproof performance, Jumei Glamping’s roof and wall fabrics are also flame-retardant, mold-proof, UV-resistant, and tear-resistant, making them suitable for most weather conditions.

Materials and Construction

  • Quality of materials used: When choosing a safari tent, it’s essential to consider the quality of the materials used and the construction of the tent.
  • Durability and weather resistance: The tent should be made from durable and weather-resistant materials to ensure it lasts for many years.
  • Ventilation and insulation: Additionally, it should have proper ventilation and insulation to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the tent. High-quality materials and construction will ensure the tent is strong and secure and can withstand harsh weather conditions.
PVC Fabric Canvas Fabric
Pros – Waterproof and weather-resistant – Breathable and natural
– Easy to clean and maintain – Durable and long-lasting
– UV-resistant and fire-retardant – Insulating and keeps the tent cool in hot weather
– Resistant to mold, mildew, and pests – Aesthetically pleasing and blends well with natural surroundings
Cons – Less breathable and can trap moisture inside, leading to condensation – Not completely waterproof and may require additional weatherproofing
– Can be noisy in windy conditions – Heavier and bulkier than PVC, making it more difficult to transport and set up
– Can become brittle and crack over time with exposure to sun and weather – Canvas may be prone to fading and require additional treatment to maintain color
– Canvas may be susceptible to mold and mildew if not properly maintained
– Canvas may be more susceptible to damage from pests and rodents

PVC is a more durable and weather-resistant material compared to canvas, which makes it a more popular choice for commercial glamping resorts. However, PVC is also a more costly material than canvas. Additionally, the cost of a safari tent can also depend on other factors such as size, features, and construction quality. So while PVC tents may be more expensive than canvas tents in general, it’s possible to find canvas tents that are more expensive than PVC tents depending on the specific details of the tent.

Comfort and Convenience

  • Bedding and Linens: Guest comfort and convenience are essential factors to consider when selecting a safari tent for your glamping resort. Ensure that the tent comes with comfortable bedding and linens to provide guests with a good night’s sleep.
  • Storage Space: Storage space is also important to allow guests to store their belongings safely.
  • Lighting and Electrical Outlets: Lighting and electrical outlets should also be available to allow guests to charge their devices and navigate the tent easily.
  • Bathroom and Shower Facilities: Finally, bathroom and shower facilities should be nearby, either within the tent or a short walk away.

Conclusion

In conclusion, choosing the right safari tent for your glamping resort is essential to creating a memorable and comfortable experience for your guests. Consider the location, size, style, materials, construction, comfort, convenience, and budget when making your selection. By keeping these factors in mind, you’ll be able to choose a safari tent that’s the perfect fit for your glamping resort and provides guests with an unforgettable experience in nature.
